Hello friends of Lucky Penny-

Since our theatre world came to a sudden stop on March 11, 2020, we have done our best to adjust. We thought we would just be inconvenienced for a few weeks, but now we’re approaching six months in limbo. We have made new plans and alternate plans, and each time the pandemic has forced us to cancel those plans.

As the pandemic stretches out into a tenth month, we have already had to cancel or reschedule three shows from our 2019-20 season and a summer production. Now we are sad that we have no choice but to postpone the first three shows of our 2020-21 as well. These are all fairly complex shows with many people involved, and we cannot see a way to produce them and be Covid-safe for actors, musicians, and technicians, even if we were aiming to produce them as live-streamed or video theatre shows, which the licensing companies won’t allow anyway! And even if we could get them ready for an audience, it may not be safe or permitted for us to invite you back to the Community Arts Center for the next few months ahead. As a result, “The Wizard of Oz,” “Deathtrap,” and “Elf: The Musical” will be rescheduled to open our 2021-22 season which begins in September 2021. In lieu of those three productions, we are working now on several Lucky Penny Video Theatre projects. Each of these will be available as pay-what-you-can shows.

After reading through the changes to our 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 season below, you may discover you have tickets that you will not be able to use. We kindly request that you consider these options:

  • Turn your tickets into a donation. We will gladly provide a donation receipt for tax purposes.
  • Exchange your tickets for a gift card for use on future purchases. We will be happy to give you the full value of your purchase and add on a bonus of 20% of the value of your purchase.
  • Request a refund. Our tickets are always sold under a “no refund, no exchange” policy. In normal circumstances, we often give refunds anyway when requested. Under the current abnormal circumstances, we urge you to request a refund only if it is truly necessary.
ACTION STEP! If you are a Subscriber or Single Show Ticket Holder please let us know which option you prefer. Email us at info at luckypennynapa.com or call 707-266-6305.
Here is information about each show from the shutdown date in March 2020 through the end of the 2020-21 season next June.
2019/2020 SEASON

After being bounced from our March 2020 performance dates, we postponed the show to run late May-early June. All tickets have been moved to those new dates, and all ticket holders have the same seats they purchased. If you want to keep your tickets for this show so you can see it next year, there is nothing to do. If you cannot see the show, we are happy to accept your ticket purchase as a donation or offer a gift card for the amount of your purchase that will include a bonus credit of 20% of your purchase.

THE HOW AND THE WHY
No change! Performances April 23-May 9, 2021.
BRIGHT STAR
No change! Performances June 4-20, 2021.
We greatly appreciate your patience as we re-formulate our plans periodically.
And finally, thank you. We know that this is a time full of unknowns, worry and ample amounts of frustration. We feel it too. We miss seeing each and every one of you at the theatre. We miss the buzz of the audience, the musicians warming up before a performance, and the camaraderie among cast members. The main premise of the theatre is to gather people together in a shared space to enjoy a shared experience, and while we are not physically able to do that now, we know without a doubt we will be able to gather again and celebrate when it is deemed safe.
Thank you once again for your continued support of Lucky Penny Productions. We can’t wait to see you at the theatre again soon!
